OBI is a relationship and connection app designed to help people reflect, match, and meet in more grounded ways. If you have questions about this policy or our data practices, contact support@obiapp.app.
What we collect
We may collect information you choose to provide, including:
- name, age or birthdate, display name, photos, videos, and voice intro
- profile details, preferences, and Identity Map content
- responses to Reflections, Scenarios, Explore Others, and similar prompts
- safety reports, support requests, and post-meet feedback
We also generate or store service data such as:
- match results, compatibility signals, and lane-specific scoring
- Meet session state, venue suggestions, arrival and separation checkpoints, and decisions
- notification preferences, push-token records, and notification event logs
- diagnostics, crash context, and reliability signals
Verification, safety, and location
If you use verification or Meet safety features, we may process verification images, match outcomes, block/report actions, and moderation records.
If you grant location access, OBI may use location to help with nearby matching, public venue suggestions, arrival checks, and post-meet separation flows. OBI does not rely on continuous background location tracking by default for these features.

AI-assisted features
OBI uses automated systems and AI-assisted features to help generate structured suggestions, syntheses, and interpretations from information you provide. These outputs support the product experience. They are not guarantees, diagnoses, or professional advice.
Service providers
We may use service providers to run parts of OBI, including hosting, authentication, notifications, mapping or venue search, media storage, verification, and AI-backed generation. Our stack may include providers such as Supabase, Expo, AWS Rekognition, Google Places, and Google Gemini.
Retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as needed to operate the service, comply with law, prevent abuse, and handle safety matters. Deletion requests may remove or anonymize account content, while some records are kept when reasonably necessary for security, legal, or moderation purposes.
Your choices
You can control many settings in-app, including profile content, notification preferences, blocks, and some location permissions. You can also contact us to ask about your data, request deletion, or raise privacy concerns.
